About Me
I’m Preeshita Shah, a journalist and digital producer based in Melbourne, raised in Mumbai, shaped by some chaotic years in New York and London. I’ve reported for ABC News on Asia-Pacific stories and written for The Citizen, All The Best Radio, and other outlets, where I've pursued narratives that sit at the edges of power and are shaped by geography, history and the people who move through it.
I'm drawn to journalism where identity and politics intersect, exploring how stories are told, who gets to tell them, and why they matter. My work gravitates toward people who live between worlds, culturally, socially, or structurally, and I aim to bridge that space between personal and political.
Whether I’m reporting from a public housing estate or talking to someone navigating life across borders, I’m always circling the same question: what does this look like from their side of the story?
At its core, everything I do is an attempt to amplify voices that are often underrepresented, underfunded, or unknown and to make complex global issues feel grounded and human.
