About Me
I'm Preeshita Shah, a journalist and digital producer based in Melbourne, raised in Mumbai and shaped by years living and working across New York and London. I’ve reported for ABC News on Asia-Pacific stories and for The Citizen, The Yarn, and other publications, covering a range of beats from diaspora communities navigating conflict to grassroots activists, community institutions, and new industries navigating old regulations.
I'm drawn to journalism where identity, culture and politics intersect, exploring how stories are told, who gets to tell them, and why they matter. My reporting tends to start with a specific person or place and move outward toward the bigger question.
At its core, everything I do is an attempt to amplify voices that are often underrepresented, underfunded, or unknown and to make complex global issues feel grounded and human.
